Just to be clear, of course I got banned later. But recently I’ve had a few instances where I got banned just for creating an account, liking a single video, or leaving a comment.
Yesterday, I got banned on one account that was looking promising—it was only two weeks old. I posted a few Reels, was gaining reach and new followers. What triggered the ban? I acted like a “normal person” and replied to two comments. After replying to those two comments, I got banned a minute later. A friend of mine had the exact same situation, and it also happened to me on my previous account.
The current problem I’m noticing, which wasn’t there a year or two ago: New account/aged account—if you get a lot of views on Reels = ban. If you get few views on Reels = it’s okay.
And yet, the point is supposed to be gaining reach naturally and organically, but as we can see today, AI technology bans you for it. It reminds me of the situation with Facebook two years ago. When I posted to a Facebook group on a new account and got, say, 500 likes there (of course, I didn’t click anything), I got banned for suspicious activity. I was simply banned because there was too much interest on my profile; I didn’t even have to do anything. I’m currently experiencing the same thing with Instagram. A year ago, when I created an account and posted a reel, and by the second day I had 500k views, I didn’t get banned. Currently, my two friends and I are having this problem.

New account: Posting within 1–3 days of creating the account and gaining reach = BAN
2022/2023 Instagram
New account: Posting within 1–3 days of creating the account and gaining reach = NO BAN
2026 Facebook
New account: Posting multiple posts and Reels, gaining reach = NO BAN
2026 Instagram
New account: Posting Reels and getting high view counts and engagement = BAN
Of course, I’m only talking about what I’ve observed with my own accounts. After all, there are tons of Instagram accounts—both new and aged—that get millions of views, and it’s totally fine. Compared to those accounts and creators, I’m nobody. Apparently, I’m doing something wrong and need to relearn how to use Instagram. I’ll be testing different things and strategies; currently, my plan is not to reply to any comments or like any comments on my new account, even though Instagram itself suggests that “replying to comments increases engagement.”
Recently, when I did this on two accounts in a natural way, and my friend did the same, we received an instant ban after replying to two comments in a natural and creative way.
If anyone is currently having issues with Instagram, feel free to follow this thread. I’m no expert—I’m just trying to find methods that work for me—and I’ll be happy to share them later if they have a positive effect.
