SEO chnages constantly, but some habits seem to remain effective regardless of algorithm updates. whether it's content planning, internal linking, technical optimization or something else what practice has consistently produced positive results for your websites or clients over the years?

Enhancement of page that are already available is much more produtive compared to creation of new content continuousl. generaly speaking, it is far more convenient to rank an existing page from page two rather than making any new content.

Internal linking. Almost every time I audit a site there are pages with potential that are barely connected. Fixing site structure and linking related content has delivered results more consistently than chasing every new SEO trend.

I second this, people seems to ignore this entirely. A well linked topic can have crazy results if done right.

consistency updating and improve exiting content has delivered the best result for me.

consistently publishing on a schedule beats sporadic bursts every time, compounds way more than people expect.
internal linking is the other one that's never not worked for me

If I had to give you one piece of advice, it would be to keep improving the content you publish so that it really answers people's search queries Instead of trying to keep up with every algorithm change because I've seen consistent results when I combine that with strong internal linking and regular content updates.

monitoring the searchconsole would be beneficial over a period of time. This is due to the fact that small changes build up, and I obtained one of my highest ranking page through the optiization of keyword.

Connecting related content the right way has consistently proven to be one of the most effective strategies over the years, since some of the easiest wins come from simply making better use of pages that are already pulling in traffic

Quality over quantity. That habit has survived every major google update .I have seen.

Regular content updates and improving existing pages have given me better results than constantly creating new posts. Refreshing old content is an underrated SEO strategy.

For me, it's consistently creating really good, helpful content that actually answers what people are searching for.
Algorithms come and go, but quality content + fast site + good internal linking has worked reliably for years on my sites and clients. Everything else is nice, but these basics always deliver.

I dont do SEO myself but my buddy runs a small agency and the one habit that always worked for them is consistent internal linking done right. They make sure every new article links to 3-5 relevant older pages and it keeps the site authority flowing nicely even after big updates.

seo takes time. publishing content and improving it over the time. focusing on low competition keywords, checking my competitors, and adapting their marketing strategies helps me a lot.

Matching search intent beats chasing every algorithm update,

The single most consistent SEO habit is regularly auditing and refreshing existing content.

For me it's consistent internal linking whenever I publish something new — going back to older, relevant posts and adding a link. It's low effort but keeps link equity flowing to important pages and often gives a small ranking bump within a few weeks, way more reliable than chasing algorithm-specific tricks.

One strategy that's a little outside the usual metadata, schema, and technical SEO work is using Ahrefs' Keyword Explorer to find industry-related questions with high search volume and low competition. I've been creating blog content around those topics, and it's been a great way to generate organic traffic without having to compete for highly competitive keywords. Since the competition is low, those articles often don't require nearly as much effort to rank.

You could argue that informational content isn't always the strongest lead generator, and I'd agree to an extent. However, it helps build topical authority, attracts natural backlinks, and strengthens your site's EEAT signals by demonstrating expertise in your industry. Over time, those supporting articles can make it easier for your commercial pages to perform better as well.
