Hey guys,

I’m currently testing popup traffic and planning to scale it seriously in the near future. My goal is to run around 1M–5M pops daily mainly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 GEOs.

Verticals I’m focusing on:
• Casino offers (APK / registration funnels)
• Casual dating / adult dating
• Casual offers / sweepstakes

So far I’ve been testing different funnel setups like:

Pop → Pre-lander → Offer

I already tested multiple pre-lander concepts including:

• Device verification / compatibility pages
• Bonus claim pages for casino offers
• APK download style pages
• Simple landing pages for casual dating offers

Current testing results:
• Around 300,000+ pops tested
• CTR around 0.5% – 0.8%
• Users close pop pages very quickly, so engagement is low

From what I see, popup traffic users decide within 1–2 seconds, which makes pre-lander design extremely important.

Before scaling bigger traffic volumes, I’m trying to learn from people here who already run profitable pop campaigns.

I would really appreciate advice on:

• Proven high-CTR pre-lander formats for popup traffic
• Best funnel structure for casino and casual dating offers
• Whether direct linking or pre-landers work better
• GEOs that perform well with pop traffic for these verticals
• Zone optimization strategies when running high volumes

Hey, been running pop/push traffic for a while now in similar verticals (casino, sweeps).

Few things that helped me:

Pre-landers vs Direct:
- For casino APK offers, device verification pages work but you need to make them FAST. Most users bounce within 2 seconds on popup.
- Direct linking can work for strong brands (like well-known casinos in that GEO), but for no-name offers, a simple bonus claim page converts better.
- Dating: direct linking usually beats pre-landers if the offer page is mobile-optimized.

Zone optimization:
- When you hit 1M+ pops/day, you'll be dealing with hundreds of zones. Start blacklisting aggressively at the zone level, not just at the traffic source level.
- Track by zone + GEO combo. Some zones are profitable in BR but trash in ID, even within the same traffic source.

GEOs for pop:
- Tier 2/3: BR, ID, PH, TH, VN work well for casino if you have good local offers
- Sweeps: LATAM geos (MX, CO, CL) convert better than Asia for me
- Avoid mixing tier 1 and tier 3 in the same campaign — bid dynamics are too different

Thanks man, this is actually very close to what I’m seeing too.

I’ve been testing mostly casino FTD on push + pop traffic with pre-landers like bonus wheel / Zeus spin pages.

Biggest issue for me was mixing too many GEO tiers in same campaign and not tracking zone + GEO separately.

Now I’m rebuilding with:

  • separate campaigns per GEO
  • zone blacklist after 100–150 clicks
  • faster mobile-first bonus claim pages
  • testing direct link vs short pre-lander
For Tier 2/3 I’m seeing TR, PL, BR and some LATAM GEOs interesting.

What traffic sources gave you the cleanest converting zones for casino FTD?

OP, of these traffic sources you've tested so far, which seems to have the fewest bots?

are you using a specific tracker to measure the ctr or just relying on the network's stats

From what I’ve seen, once you pass ~1M daily, the biggest issues are:

traffic quality consistency (zones start degrading fast)
managing blacklists efficiently
routing traffic properly depending on performance

A lot of people focus only on buying more traffic, but the real gains usually come from better distribution and filtering.

Curious — are you running everything through one network or splitting across multiple sources?

That’s a really solid point — especially about control over just volume


I’ve started noticing the same even at lower volumes — some zones perform well for a short window and then drop off quickly, so consistency becomes the real challenge.


Right now I’m mostly testing with separate GEO campaigns + basic zone filtering, but not doing advanced routing yet. Still building out a better structure for that.


Completely agree on distribution — I think a lot of loss happens between LP → offer when traffic isn’t filtered properly.


Planning next steps:


  • isolate zones faster (early blacklist)
  • track LP CTR vs offer CTR separately
  • test different pre-lander angles per GEO (instead of reusing same flow)

For sources — currently testing a couple networks, but not fully diversified yet.


Curious — when you say routing based on performance, are you using rules inside a tracker (like redirecting low-quality zones to backup offers), or just manual optimization?

once you cross serious volume, zone optimization becomes almost the entire game. same source can print in BR and completely die in ID with identical funnels.

also a lot of buyers overcomplicate prelanders for pop. users decide insanely fast there. simple and immediate usually outperforms “clever”.

Yeah, that makes sense honestly.

From my own testing, the biggest issue with pop traffic is not volume — it’s user attention span. Most users decide in literally 1–2 seconds whether they stay or close the page.

That’s why I’m now focusing more on:
• ultra-fast mobile pre-landers
• instant hooks above the fold
• single CTA flows
• social-style traffic placements instead of classic blind pops

I also noticed that Social traffic placements usually give much better engagement compared to regular Onclick traffic, especially for Casino, Sweeps, and Dating funnels.

Currently testing:
Social/Pop → Pre-lander → CTA → CPC/CPL Offer

Main goal now is filtering low-quality traffic before the CTA and scaling only profitable zones/sources.

Still optimizing GEOs and placements, but the quality difference vs normal pops is definitely noticeable.
 
There is no such thing as one size fits all. Buy a ad spy tool and see what works for others in your verticals and ad network and optimize with split testing and small tweaks

Currently testing mainly PropellerAds, Adsterra and some other popup/social traffic sources.

We’re focusing mostly on casino CPL/CPC, sweeps and casual dating funnels with our own mobile-first pre-landers because direct linking alone usually gives very low engagement on pop traffic.

For us the biggest improvement came from:
• ultra-fast 1-page pre-landers
• very aggressive zone blacklisting
• GEO-specific landers
• short CTA flow (users decide in 1–2 seconds)

We’re also testing push opt-in + offer redirect flows alongside standard Pop → Prelander → Offer setups.

Appreciate the insights about BR/ID/PH and LATAM GEOs — definitely useful for scaling.
 
pop traffic feels like a game of speed more than persuasion. users decide insanely fast whether to close or engage, so the first visual impression probably matters more than long copy ever will. from what i’ve seen, simple flows usually outperform overcomplicated funnels on pop because hesitation kills engagement almost immediately.
