Is YouTube still the best platform for building authority?

YouTube is still one of the strongest platforms for building authority because video creates trust faster than text LinkedIn newsletters and podcasts are also powerful but YouTube still leads for reach and long term credibility when you stay consistent and provide real value

Hard to say what the definitive "best" is since that'll be different from user to user. Youtube is still rather good at building authority though, if that's what you're wondering. Long-form content can build a stronger sense of familiarity compared to short posts. Though, admittedly that depends.
Don't sleep on other platforms though, each has its strength that's worth exploring.
 
like @pedroformigheri said it depends on the niche, but there is also the shelf life aspect to consider. with linkedin and x your content dies in 24 hours unless you get lucky with the algorithm. youtube is a search engine... i still get high quality leads today from a couple of tutorial videos i put up back in 2022.

the barrier to entry is just way higher now on YT. if you dont want to spend hours editing, starting with a newsletter and driving traffic to it from short-form stuff might be easier to pull off.

It completely depends on your target audience and how they prefer to consume information. YouTube is hard to beat for deep authority because people can actually see and hear you, which builds trust.

However, if your audience responds better to quick industry intelligence, focusing on X with zero-click content can be a much faster way to establish yourself as an expert.

It's less about the platform and more about matching your content format to your audience's intent.

I think youtube is still one of the best platforms for building authority but it really depends on your niche LinkedIn X podcasts and newsletters can work just as well if your audience is active there

Both are strong platforms it's just based on how much traffic you get what is your niche how much popularity you are getting.
 
Nothing beat YouTube presently. What comes close to YouTube authority is LinkedIn

I think YouTube can help you build credibility and authority. However, there are many other strong platforms to consider as well, such as Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn...
