Hey bhw members, im here to try and figure out, with the help of TikTok experts, what might have happened here...
To give you some context, i run a sports betting TG group. I’ve gradually grown it using various techniques that have worked well to maintain a steady flow of users joining and leaving; the group is quite active daily, but it had started to stagnate and lose members the last month or so.
With the world cup coming up, i thought it was a great time to capitalize on the sports betting hype, so i looked into ways to promote the group and decided to give TikTok a try, firs time i tried months ago my acc got randomly banned due to TT rules on betting niche and all that...
So this time, aside from creating my own content, I decided to "snipe" viral betting videos that popped up on my "For You" page.
I replied to various accounts asking about groups or channels where they could get betting tips.
The idea wasn't to drop a direct link or anything that might get me banned; I’d just reply with something like "Yeah, search for @mygroupname on TLM" or other variations that didn't explicitly use the word "Telegram."
I left about 10–15 comments and closed TikTok.
¿The result?
About 15–20 minutes later, people started joining the group. At first, it was just 2, 3, or 4 people... nothing unusual.
Then 10, 15, 20 joined...
I started to find it odd, so i checked TikTok, but there were no likes, no replies to my comments, no private messages, just nothing.
The thing is, within two hours, over 70 people had joined.
I went to sleep since it was late, and when I checked later, I realized we’d gone from 1,402 members to 1,561....an increase of about 160 members in less than 14 hours, 100% free, targeted members.
Unfortunately, when i logged back into TikTok, i had a bunch of notifications saying my comments had been deleted for absurd reasons like "Scam," "Explicit Content," and stuff like that...
I didn't have a single like on any comment, no new followers, nothing, just deleted comments, the acc is not banned but idk it looks really weird rn.
I decided to post more comments, but this time nothing happened; some got deleted, while others just sat there—but it was as if no one saw them, because no one else was joining the group.
My question is: what could have happened to bring in so many people? What did I do right, and how can I replicate it? The incoming traffic was high-quality; 99% of those people are still in the group, and a large number of them are constantly chatting, sharing their bets, and interacting with other users—so they certainly aren't bots.
I hope someone can tell me...im quite intrigued tbh
In the coming days, i’ll try creating new accounts, doing some warming up, and testing out leaving more indirect comments.
