My Reddit growth completely slowed down after a strong start

Hi,

The first few weeks on Reddit everything is going well. I was getting karma consistently, comments are receiving upvotes and my posts also gets decent engagement.

Recently everything seems to be slowed down. My posting style is not changed much bus I am not getting the results like before.

Has anyone gone through a similar phase? I am trying to figure out whether this is normal or I am missing something important.

Reddit can be very inconsistent. Subreddit activity, mod filters, and even small algorithm shifts can change how your posts are distributed, so performance can go up and down without warning.
 
I think that's completely normal. When your karma grows quickly, it's usually because your content resonates with the community. If your growth slows down, it's likely because your recent posts or comments aren't engaging enough to earn as many upvotes.

Reddit often gives a new account a bit of early momentum, and after that things can slow down even if your posting style stays the same. It does not always mean you are doing something wrong.

In most cases, I have noticed it comes down to small things like subreddit saturation, timing, or just your recent posts not getting early engagement. Once a post does not get that initial push, it usually doesn’t recover.

What usually helps is changing timing, mixing up subreddits a bit, and focusing more on comments for a while instead of only posting. After some consistent activity, the reach tends to come back gradually.
 
I have experienced similar. Sometimes growth slows down after the starting phase. In my case, I become more active in comments which helps me to get the engagement back.
 
yeah that's pretty normal, reddit algo loves new accounts then chills out after a bit.
 
I also faced this. In my case, I become more active in different subreddits and also commenting more. This helps me to get engagement again.

I believe timing also matters a lot. If more users or better posts are going live around same time, your content can get less attention even if quality is unchanged.
 
Assuming your posting style hasn't changed, so the results should stay the same. Subreddit activity, competition, timing, and even the types of discussions trending that week can affect engagement. I'd look at which posts performed well early on and see if there are any patterns you're missing rather than assuming the account itself is the problem.
 
Yeah this is pretty normal on Reddit, early boost happens often but after that you need to adjust content and timing to keep engagement up.

That's pretty normal. Reddit engagement goes up and down. I Would check if you're posting in the same subreddits at the same times. Try joining new communities leave more helpful comments and focus on discussions instead of only posting. That usually helps bring engagement back
 
How long is it going on? 2 days or 1 week?

1 week not normal.

24-48 hours... Easily could be possible just the amount of content you're posting in certian groups is devalued as/if you're trying to post so much volume
 
I've seen that happen too. Reddit engagement comes in waves. Sometimes the same style stops working because the audience, timing, or topics shift. I usually get better results by commenting more and trying different subreddits instead of forcing more posts.
 
Reddit growth comes in waves, focus on what previously earned engagement, stay consistent, and don't mistake a temporary slowdown for a permanent decline.
 
same happen to me before. reddit give good push at first, then slow down. i think subs also get used to your style
 
I already faced this issue before, I find that timing and subreddit activity can make a bigger diffrence the actual content sometimes.

I think it is a bit of both.

If a subreddit keeps seeing the same type of content over and over again, people naturally engage with it less because it no longer feels fresh. At the same time, there is also more competition as new posts are constantly fighting for attention.

As for the new account boost, I cannot say for sure because reddit does not disclose that information. But I have noticed that some newer accounts seem to get decent visibility early on, and then things become more dependent on post quality, engagement, and account history over time. That's just my observation though.

You should change timing of post. Each subreddit active member at different time so you check there are many tools for that. Post before 20 or 30min before most active users on that subreddit.
