Hey everyone,
I have been testing instagram growth for a while now and noticed something that keeps affecting reach more than anything else.
Most people focus only on posting content but they ignore how instagram actually understands their niche and audience.
The biggest mistake is inconsistent content direction. One day posting random topics, next day switching formats or niche completely. This confuses the alogorithm and slows down distribution.
Once you stay consistent with one clear niche and format especially reels then reach usually stabilizes and improves over time.
Anyone else noticed this or had similar experience.

I've noticed that too. Accounts that stick to one niche and content style usually do better. When you keep changing topics or formats, IG has a harder time figuring out who to show your content to.

I have noticed something similar. Accounts that stick to one topic and post consistently grows more faster. Changing niches or content styles too often can make it harder to build an audience.

100% facts Instagram relies heavily on account categorization to determine your seed audience. If you pivot every three days the algorithm throws its hands up and stops pushing your stuff all together. Find your lane, nail the format, and let the algorithm do its thing.

Absolutely, consistency in niche and content format helps Instagram better understand your audience, which often leads to more stable reach and engagement.

agreed. i have seen lot of people switch strategies too quickly. sometimes consistency matters more than constantly trying new things.

That is correct. Many content creators fail to progress because they follow any trend that they come across. The algorithm requires consistency in order to understand which audience should be shown the content, and hence remaining consistent in content and style for some weeks will do the trick.

I agree with your point. Consistent, niche-focused content is essential for building and growing an Instagram account sustainably over the long term.

I agree with this. Consistency in topic and style helps Instagram push content to the right audience faster.

I noticed the same thing. Most of the pages that grow fast are boringly consistent

Seems like a great insight. Thanks for sharing your test result insights. Was this the only thing noticed, or did anything else also stick out?

Another thing is when you add the link too early. If you add the link to your account too early, the page just gets flagged. At minimum, wait around 10 days before you add the link so that the account build trusts score.

Yes, your account should be niche specific. It gives a good boost.

Yeah I have also noticed that. In my opinion IG's algorithm may become confused if you post in different niches, therefore it won't push your content that much.

Your observation on niche focus is correct. Content quality matters, but distribution consistency seems to matter even more. A lot of accounts never give Instagram enough data to understand who should see their content.

Check what happens when you push the same reel through 50+ niche accounts.

That makes sense; I’ve noticed that too. Instagram is really toughening up on its “signal clarity” rules — having multiple niches effectively starts your distribution education over.

It looks like consistency on posts and repeat audience signals (similar topic and format) are becoming more important than sheer numbers, particularly for Reels post-algo changes

In my experience many people focus on posting more intead of posting content their actually want to see.
