More agency owners and freelancers seem to be focusing on LinkedIn than ever before If you have generated clients through LinkedIn how does it compare to other channels like cold email, referrals, SEO or paid ads in terms of lead quality and conversion rates?

LinkedIn works well for me, lead quality is ussualy better than cold email, but referrals still convert the best.

Lead quality can be better than cold email but volume is usually lower. Referrals still convert the best for me while SEO and paid ads scale more depending on the niche. From what I've seen LinkedIn is getting stronger for B2B especially for higher ticket services.

LinkedIn has worked well for me because clients can review your profile, experience, and previous work before reaching out. This usually results in higher-quality conversations compared to cold email.

However, referrals still have the highest conversion rate in my experience because trust is already established. Cold email can bring more leads at scale, but it often requires a much larger volume to get similar results. SEO is excellent for long-term inbound leads, while paid ads can generate opportunities quickly if managed properly.

I think the best approach is to use LinkedIn as part of a multi-channel strategy rather than relying on a single source of clients.

Linkedin is great for B2B but I would not rely on it alone
the lead quality can be very good because u can target decision makers directly

For me referrals and cold email still convert better when combined with linkedin instead of using one channel only

LinkedIn had a week last month where everything in the main feed for most users was advertising. I think they're getting saturated. If you can do some marketing in the next few months without having to build up a brand first, it's probably the best time.

In my experience, LinkedIn often produces higher-quality leads than cold email because prospects can see your content, credibility, and expertise before reaching out. The volume maybe lower, but conversion rates tend to be better since there's already some trust established.

Referrals are still usually the strongest source for closing deals, while SEO can be great for long-term inbound leads. LinkedIn sits somewhere in the middle, strong for relationship-building and attracting qualified prospects over time.

Leads feel more warm than cold email or ads because people already see your content, so trust is higher. Or Referrals are still1 for conversion, but LinkedIn is probably the strongest organic channel after that if you stay consistent.

linkedin has been surprisingly good for B2B because people are already in a business mindset when they are using it. I may get fewer leads compared to other channels but the quality is usually better and conversations tend to be easier to start.

LinkedIn works better than most other social media because potential clients can check your work history and decide if they want to do business with you or not.

I think LinkedIn is an excellent platform for finding B2B clients. However, to achieve real results, you need a well-planned strategy, consistent networking, and high-quality content that resonates with your target audience.

LinkedIn is one of the strongest B2B channels because it combines networking and content. Many people find the lead quality higher than cold outreach, but referrals often convert best. The most effective approach is usually combining LinkedIn with referrals, email, or SEO rather than relying on one channel alone.

Compared to cold email or paid ads, LinkedIn delivers far superior lead quality and conversion rates second only to warm referrals because personal authority and direct access to decision makers build trust upfront to shorten the sales cycle.
