Does YouTube care about IP address and device when linking accounts, or is it based on AdSense details like phone number and recovery info? My mom and I share the same device and IP, and I’m worried that if I get demonetized suddenly, her channel might get linked to mine.

i think at some point you can trigger algorithm and will be demonetized but better to listen other opinions too

You are overthinking it. Youtube flags shared bank accounts or identity details on adsense during payouts, it doesn't care about two family members sharing a wifi router. Just keep her payment info and passport separate, and don't log into her account to mess things up :v

In the past, I reuploaded a ton of AI videos and got all my accounts banned, to the point that just logging into a brand new email and creating a youtube channel got it disabled instantly. Now it doesn't happen anymore. Basically, unless you completely destroy their policies like I did back then, you have nothing to fear. If you and your mom aren't doing anything shady, there is nothing to worry about.

IP is fine for families, but device sharing can get tricky due to browser fingerprints and cookies history. To play it safe, create separate browser profiles on your PC, never log into each other's accounts, and use entirely different phone numbers and tax IDs for AdSense.

Sharing the same device or IP with family members is usually fine. Youtube looks at multiple signals, and account ownership details (Adsense, payment info, recovery contacts, etc.) generally matter more than just shared IP address.
