hey everyone,
i have been working on a site for a few months and recently started getting a decent number of impression in search console.
the main problem is that clicks are still very low even though some keywords are ranking on the first few pages.
i already tried updating title ad meta descriptions but there is no improvement.
for those who have dealt with this before then what would you focus on next? better content, internal links , rich snippets or something else?
would appreciate any suggestions.

seen this on a few sites. if impressions are growing but clicks are low then i usually check the pages ranking above me and see what they are offering that i am not. a simple content update or improving the page layout has helped me more than changing title and meta descriptions.

Internal links can definitely help, especially if you push authority toward pages already getting impressions. sometimes those pages only need a small boost to move up.

Usually the issue is not just title/meta but search intent and position. improve the content to match what users are actually looking for , add internal links and give changes some time.

CTR Issue on page 1-3 are often more about search intent than titles.I'd focus on improving content to better match what users expect, then strengthen internal linking and add schema where relevant. Also check what competitors ranking above you are doing differently in their snippets and content structure. Sometimes a small intent mismatch can kill clicks even with good rankings.

If you're ranking on page two or the bottom of page one, you're going to get tons of impressions but almost no traffic, you need to push those terms into the top three by adding some strong internal links or a few high quality guest posts, also double check that your page actually matches the search intent because if the user wants a quick answer and you're showing a long-form guide, they'll just scroll right past you.

Check the actual ranking position and search intent. Sometimes “first few pages” still means page 2–3, which gets almost no clicks.

Honestly, whenever I run into this on my own sites, 90% of the time it’s not actually a CTR problem—it’s a ranking problem. Search Console loves to flood you with impressions when you're sitting around positions 8 to 20, but almost nobody actually clicks down there. Tweaking meta descriptions at that stage is just wasting time.

Focus on throwing strong contextual internal links at that page to push it into those top.

Right now, I also have this on my new site. It's because of your ranking position. Try to get to the high positions. You also need high authority.

the first thing that I would analyze would be the position ranking. If there are very low click-through rate in the impresions, it mean that either the page are ranking badly or there is no intent present in the page.

this would be done to make sure that I am going to change the position of the correct queries. It is vry common for impressions to be made on web page which fall outside the first page of the search result
