Hi
Need some advice from anyone running AI models / OFM accounts on IG.

Got hit 48 hours ago with the "Your account and content can't be recommended to non-followers" restriction. I've attached the screenshots.

The annoying part is that IG isn't giving me any info on what triggered it. Monetization, features, and account status are all completely green. No flagged posts at all.

In the past, when my reach got limited, I knew exactly which post was too borderline. I'd just delete it and everything went back to green instantly. This time, there’s literally nothing to delete.

The account is in the AI model space but I don't post explicit NSFW stuff, it's pretty clean.

What I've done so far:
  • Removed the link in bio (no change).
  • Ghosted the account for 48h (no posts, no reels, just lurking/scrolling to check status).
Is this account totally cooked or is there a way to bypass this? Anyone dealt with this specific ghost restriction recently where everything stays green but recommendations are blocked?

Should I wait it out or just burn the account and spin up a new one?

Appreciate any insights.

This looks like a reach limiter more than a dead account. If content/messages, features, and monetization are all still green, IG isn’t really nuking the profile. It’s mostly just stopping it from getting pushed to non-followers.

That usually feels worse than it is because there’s nothing obvious to delete. If no post is flagged in Account Status, I’d probably just leave it alone for a bit and avoid poking the account too much.

If everything is green and there's no flagged content, I'd wait a bit longer before giving up on the account. Sometimes these restrictions lift on their own after a few days.

If it's still the case in more than 1 week you can consider starting another account

If your account suddenly starts experiencing this issue, stop all activity for one or two weeks. After that, publish a new post and check whether the problem still persists.

as other have suggested, pause activity for a while, and also start working on a new setup just incase it doesnt go your way

Please contact Instagram support so they can help you remove the restrictions.

yeah once support cant help and nothing changes after deleting posts, starting fresh is probly the best move, happened to me too

This usually happens on Meta when the account gets a temporary recommendation limit. It’s often not tied to a specific post, so it can fix itself after a few days.

Instead of link-in-bio, you can use a link in highlight story. Works pretty well for risky accounts.

Since everything in accounts status is still green I'd give it another week or two and see if the restriction clears on its own. I wouldn't write the account off yet.

If everything is green, I avoid making too many changes right now. deleting content, changing bio repeatedly, or posting aggressively sometimes makes it worse instead of helping.

They are not giving you a clear violation because it's likely an algorithmic flag, not a direct content takedown. since your monetization and status are green, your best bet is to wait it out. these algorithmic bans can sometimes clear on their own after a longer period, maybe a week or two. burning the account and starting fresh is an option, but you risk hitting the same wall again

If there are no visible violations, I would avoid making major changes and give it some time. Constant edits sometimes seem to make recovery slower.

UPDATE : Thanks everyone. Account is back to normal. didn't do anything special, just waited it out like suggested. Glad it worked out.
P.S. Not sure if it'll be more prone to restrictions going forward, but we'll see. Hoping IG doesn't crack down on it harder next time.
