[Journey] Building an iOS & Android App Empire

making these videos can be tricky depending on your niche. you need to include your app screen, app logo and app name in the video. most people will not go to your profile and click a link. they wont copy paste a link either. they will search for your app name on the app store. thats why you need a brand name and a logo that differentiates you from others.
thank you so much! i'm going to make some changes!

Hi, been following this journey quite long. If you don’t mind, I’d love to understand your decision system:
1. What exact criteria make you greenlight an app idea before building?
2. What early metrics after 7/14/30 days tell you an app is a potential winner?
3. What are your kill criteria when an app is not worth improving?
4. For ASO-first apps, what keyword popularity/difficulty signals are good enough?
5. How do you decide whether an app should be ASO-first or social-first?
6. What paywall benchmarks do you look for by niche?
7. If you had 15 simple apps ready, how would you launch and prioritize them over 90 days?
8. What App Review mistakes should AI app builders avoid right now

Thanks

Update:

Last month was pretty good. Earnings got around 5-10% less. Could be possible its because of summer and people use their phone less.

What I am doing right now:

- Focusing on getting more organic traffic, especially through SEO
- Building more automation for social media content auto posting
- Updating an app
- Working on publishing 3 new apps
- Writing the ebook

Today I got a really big payout from Apple, around $70k. On 15th I will get another payout from Google Play, maybe around $15k.

Keep it up mate

Just finished writing the ebook, now I only need to add images, etc. and get everything ready!

Will the ebook cover that new traffic source you used to grow that $45k app? If so, I'll buy it without hesitation.

Following! Did u see big differnce in kids apps vs adult regarding buying subs ?

I was looking to Start with the same genre and found this thread with so much information.. Congrats OP for your work

thank you, best of luck to you

yes, much higher conversion rate. probably 3-4x higher.
yea i thought so too, my daughter is climbing on me to buy a freaking paint app thing. 1 level is free, rest 9 is $69 haha....so i can just assume these kids are going wild for it. im currently getting somewhat same for her now and will make it public later on IOS and android.

this is one of those journeys that shows how much patience real app building requires. a lot of people think apps are just about coding, but the hard part is retention, ASO, monetization, and not getting destroyed by platform policies.

the fact that you're thinking long term and focusing on useful apps instead of quick garbage already puts you ahead of most people entering this space.

do it like this:

- weekly subscription
- yearly subscription

and if you want, offer the premium/lifetime package as special offer.

example:

weekly: 7.99 USD
yearly: 39.99 USD

lifetime: 69.99 USD

thank you

hi, thanks for the message and compliment.

paid ads are the easiest way to get downloads. the only problem is the most users are low quality. they wont convert into paying users. also, there is a lot of bot traffic. many bots click on the ad to simulate real behavior but actually never download. thats a real problem.

the highest quality users are the ones actively searching for your app. high retention, willing to pay.

yes, UGC content is a real growth hack right now. I just work with a few creators, but most of the content I publish are AI generated videos and slideshows. Its all automatic. Soon I will overhaul this system and improve its quality.

Right now I am working on an app (ios, android, web) and then I will focus even more on content creation and auto posting. Right now I only auto post on instagram, pinterest and tiktok. but soon i will add even more accounts, post youtube shorts, etc.
How are you auto posting on TikTok?
I generated UGC reaction videos then combined with few secs of my app tutorial. Generating is down on my VPS, then I download and manually post with my iPhone. But views are low. 26 views.

If you are not getting over 100 views, your set-up is flawed. Every video usually gets at least around 100 views if everything is correct.

Do you require or have optional log-in in your apps to follow-up with email marketing?
I saw a lot of apps have some long onboarding flow to follow up with a free 7 day trial that goes into a yearly plan or a paid one month trial that goes into a yearly plan.
Do you have experience with this and do you also do it like that?

That is a solid foundation already Going from zero coding knowledge to multiple monetized apps is impressive I like the focus on retention and long term sustainability because those are usually the projects that survive platform changes and keep growing over time
