Web 2.0 aren't Parasites because they usually come under a separate subdomain.
Google treats them as essentially a new site.
It's no different to saying a Blogspot is a parasite.
A parasite like Reddit inherits it's domains authority and popularity signals.
Reddit is a unique case though because they have a direct partnership with Google to train their AI systems.
Hence why it's the best parasite right now.

Most people have explained what Parasite SEO is, but I think your main question is about the linking structure.
From my understanding, there are a few ways people use it:
1. Rank the Medium/Web 2.0 page itself for the target keyword and place a contextual link or CTA to the money site.
2. Build a few quality backlinks directly to the Medium article to help it rank higher.
3. Some SEOs also use tiered links, where Tier 1 links point to the Medium article and Tier 2 links point to those Tier 1 properties.
However, I wouldn't treat it exactly like a traditional link wheel. The goal is usually to rank the parasite page itself and use the authority of that page to send traffic or relevance to your offer/site.
For anyone actively doing Parasite SEO in 2026, are you seeing better results linking directly to the money site, or sending traffic through a landing/funnel page first?

Medium page alredy have authority ranking it comes in targeting the rite keywords, article , then quality backlink.

This is actually one of my favourite strategies for brand new sites.
When you have zero authority and zero backlinks, waiting for google to trust your own domain takes months. parasite pages let you get traffic and test keywords while your main site is still building authority.

what about linking CPA offers to a ranked parasite? Does it work in 2026? if yes what should be the strategy, which niche to be selected and which type of CPA offers work on those niches?
