Hey guys,

I'm having a weird issue with Google Ads billing.

When I ran my first camp they asked for make a payment then I paid $20 to activate my account but now Google
is asking me to make payment again even before I reach
the $50 automatic payment threshold.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any solution
or workaround?

Thanks!

Yes, we’ve run into a similar situation as well. We’re still testing different options, but so far we haven’t found a final answer or a stable solution.

From what we’re seeing, Google can ask for a payment earlier than the automatic payment threshold is reached. And based on our experience, this can happen at different stages of the account, not only at the very beginning.

For now, it looks like this may be part of Google’s billing logic or account verification process. If we find a working solution or workaround, we’ll share it.

That’s normal for new accounts, Google pulls small payments early to test your card, so just pay it until the account gains enough trust to hit the actual threshold.

If your account is new, this is normal but it might be a red flag as that means they detected something that wasn't positive

Yeah that’s normal on new Google Ads accounts, they often don’t wait for the threshold at the start.
They’ll trigger early charges until the account builds some payment history/trust.
No real workaround besides letting it run a bit or switching billing settings if available in your country.

Yes this can happen sometimes with new Google Ads accounts, especially when the system is still validating billing or risk settings. It’s usually just part of their verification process rather than something you did wrong.

For example, as shown in the screenshot: this is a temporary bug. Google will update the thresholds soon, and a €20 threshold will be added between €10 and €50.

Happens sometimes with new accounts. Google just asks for early payments until the account gets some trust and stable spending history.

This can sometimes happen with new Google Ads accounts, especially when the system is still verifying payment settings or risk assessment, until the account is trusted and has a consistent spending history.

I would check whether you're using automatic payments or a prepaid/manual payment setup.
Billing behavior can vary quite a bit depending on the payment profile and account history.
A lot of confusion comes from those differences.

I have seen similar behaviour with Facebook Ads. This can happen especially with new ad accounts or old accounts that have little to no billing history. As you keep spending and making successful payments, your billing threshold would gradually increase until it reaches the threshold shown in the account.

I ran into something similar on one of my accounts a while back The billing threshold wasn't reached yet but Google still requested a payment earlier than I expected In my case it seemed to settle down after some time so I always assumed it was related to account history or billing verification I'd be curious to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing recently

That's pretty normal on newer accounts. Google sometimes asks for manual payments or verification charges before the account builds enough billing history.

I had the same thing happen on a fresh account, and it stopped after a few billing cycles. Just make sure there aren't any failed payments or account verification issues in the billing section.

it ist just authorization or actual deduction? and after making deposit does google increase the threshold or not?

it ist just authorization or actual deduction
Google only increases the threshold if the requested amount is higher than the currently active threshold.

If the amount is lower than the already active threshold, the threshold will not increase it will simply be an additional charge added to the balance.

Not just new accounts . Old acc are also facing same issues

Yes, this is quite a common situation. But there are rare exceptions: we still have old accounts with debt, they are already several years old, and the turnover there is from 10k. So everything is still fine there.
Most likely, when making the payment, it will request an additional amount on top.

A major Google update is expected in the near future.
