Is Reddit becoming a better traffic source than Google for some or All niches?

I am noticing more users searching directly on Reddit and many Google results now feature Reddit discussions has anyone shifted more effort into Reddit marketing and community building instead of traditional SEO and what results are you seeing?

Yeah true reddit is dominating Google from past few years and ranking for almost 80-90% keywords in different niches.
Brands are even improving their visibility on LLM results using reddit.
 
Yes, I'm working on that, and Reddit is really amazing when it comes to traffic; you can see noticeable results by posting with good accounts.

I think reddit works for almost every niches because there are many subreddits for every niches. People use reddit to ask questions share experiences and get answer from real users. That's why many people are turning to reddit for information regardless of the niche
 
Nowadays Google search results are mostly AI and reddit. Everything else has become useless. So, it's obvious that people will resort to either chatgpt or reddit instead of going through another medium like Google.

IT is to do with LLM visibility and SOV which is a little different than traditional search optimisation, as I learnt.

Yeah, I’ve started putting more effort into Reddit lately, but I wouldn’t treat it like traditional SEO.
Reddit works better when you use it for trust and visibility, not just traffic. If you go in only trying to drop links or promote something, it usually gets ignored or removed pretty fast. But if you actually answer questions, share useful experience, and mention your product or site only when it fits naturally, it can bring very targeted visitors.
 
For some niches, definitely yes. A lot of people now add "reddit" to their Google searches because they trust real user discussions more than affiliate-heavy websites.

I wouldn't replace SEO with Reddit, though. Reddit works great for trust and engagement, while Google is still hard to beat for consistent long-term traffic.

I do not think Reddit is replacing google for all niches, but it does seem to be getting more attention lately. Many users now search Reddit directly or look for real user experience, which is probably why reddit discussions appear more often in google results. I see reddit more as a complement to SEO rather than a replacement. Google traffic is still very important, especially for long term growth and consistent search visibility.
 
Yeah, Reddit is showing up everywhere in Google now, and a lot of people search Reddit directly. I'd focus on both though. Reddit is great for trust and community, while SEO is still huge for long term traffic.
 
For me, it always has and likely always will work hand in hand.

You get the most by combining the two in your efforts.

I've worked the two since 2004 and the algorithims are in sync.
 
For some niches, yes reddit is becoming a stronger traffic source than google. communities around tech, gaming marketing and hobbies often
