Best keyword research methods for low competition + fast ranking?

I personally find recursion techniques like finding a lot of low competition keywords and low authority keywords, one with the help of other always works.

I’m still a beginner, but I think going for very specific long-tail keywords makes it easier to rank. I usually just check Google suggestions and pick simple phrases. From what I've learnt, that it works better than trying big keywords. Honestly, keeping it simple feels easier to manage.

What tools do you use to spy on your competitors?

I get a lot of quick wins by looking for pages in the SERPs that clearly phone it in, like thin Quora threads or super old blog posts with no real structure. If those hold spots 3 to 8, I know I can slide in with something cleaner. I also keep a running doc of keywords that spike on Google Trends so I can jump fast before everyone else notices.

I started catching quicker wins once I stopped trusting keyword tools on their own and actually looked at the SERPs with my own eyes. Half the time the pages ranking are super weak, which doesn’t show in the difficulty scores. I also keep a simple sheet where I tag intent and note why I think a keyword is winnable. Keeps me from chasing shiny stuff that looks good but never ranks.
