What Online Skill Would You Learn First in 2026?

I've spent too much money over the years on building websites, website designs and SEO.

Little by little I'm trying to learn all of these.

But I'm particularly fascinated by SEO and how the internet works .

I just can't keep up, every time I learn something about it, it's no longer as effective because something else is new.

If I had to start again from zero I’d probably learn SEO first because understanding how to get traffic is useful in almost every online business Once you know how to bring attention to content or offers it becomes much easier to make money with affiliate marketing freelancing or even AI services later on

Local SEO is a solid foundation to build on, it's all about providing value to actual businesses and getting paid for it. What I've seen is that once you master the basics, you can easily scale up and offer more services like content creation and social media management. Combining AI with local SEO can also help automate a lot of the tedious tasks and free up time to focus on high-leverage activities. It's not the most glamorous field, but it's stable and can generate a lot of cash flow if done right. Focusing on building a strong foundation in local SEO can also open up opportunities to move into other areas like affiliate marketing or freelancing, where you can apply your skills to promote products or services to a wider audience. It's a versatile skillset that can be applied in many different ways.
