Are Guest post will worth it for SEO in 2026?

I've tested a few guest post providers recently, but most links did not move rankings much.
Are niche edits and outreach links working better now?
Would like to know what type of link building is giving the best results currently.

From what I’m seeing, niche edits + real outreach placements are still giving the best movement, especially on aged relevant pages with traffic. Guest posts still work, but quality/relevance matters way more now than volume.

this is an ambiguous (and probably incomplete too) statement, because...

1) tested them how??

You've built them and then removed them few days later when you've seen that they don't improve the rankings? Did you even index them? Were they topically relevant and / or d0follow? Lots of questions on this point alone...

2) "a few" guest posts rarely help in SEO, especially if...

- the guest posts are not relevant

- the guest posts need time to mature (if you know how guest posts work you'll know that they are placed on pages with 0 authority initially, so their value grows with time, and with the owner of the website where your guest post exists actively promoting that page and / or building its authority)

- the page on your site (that the guest posts links back to) targets highly competitive keywords (not all keywords are suitable for guest posting, some of them - the casino / gambling ones for example - benefit from PBN links more than from guest posts, so building guest posts for such keywords rarely yields good results, so I'm not surprised that your rankings didn't move if you operate in such niches)

3) are you certain that it was the guest posts' fault that your rankings didn't move much?

Because, like I said, it could also be a niche / keyword problem... or a site structuring and optimization problem... or a topicality problem... or god-knows what else...

as long as backlinks are a ranking factor (and they still are) all types of (quality) links will continue to work, no matter if it's niche edits, PBNs, guest posts, or press release links... heck, even profile links can work in certain aspects (they help boost trust and a bit of authority).

And "outreach links" is a general term that includes all types of links (even press releases are outreach links if you actively outreach to journalists / media outlets to close backlink deals with them, so...)

it's not a one size fit all situation, it really depends on...

- what niche you're in, and which keywords you target
- how much google trusts your site
- what the competitiveness of your keywords is like
- etc

Yes, guest posting is still worth it for SEO in 2026 if done correctly.

I am still learning SEO, but from what I have seen it feels like there’s no single link type that always works best anymore. Guest posts can still help for relevance, and niche edits sometimes show quicker impact since they go on existing pages.

Guest posts still seem effective for SEO when they are niche relevant and placed on quality sites with real traffic. A lot of people are focusing more on a contextual links, outreach links, and natural link profiles now instead of large-volume backlinks methods. In most cases, relevance and overall site quality appear to matter more than metrics alone.

guest posts are still worthy in 2026bbut it should be niche relevent. and also try to put other backlinks along with guesr posts

Yes, guest posting is still worth it for SEO in 2026 if you focus on quality websites, relevant niches, and natural backlinks. It depends on site traffic, some times no follow Backlink ranks.

Yes if you pick quality sites with not too much outbound links, nice traffic and metrics and to save budget and get overcharge do it manualy.

they still have traction - just not like they did years ago

Guest post still work for SEO in 2026, but only when the sites are are relevant and have real traffic. A lot of cheap guest post links do not move rankings anymore because search engines are better at detecting low quality placements.

Of course yeah they're working well. Also, they need to be niche relevant placements on real sites with traffic, trust, and proper topical relevance. Niche edits can also work really well when the page already has authority and rankings. But low quality sites built only for selling links won't work anymore.

Guest post still work in 2026, but only if the sites are relevant and have real traffic .low quality bulk guest posts usually do very little now. Niche edits, manual outreach, and strong contextual links on trusted sites are giving better long term results.

100% Guest post work on general website and relevant niche.

Everything still works, it only requires more efforts in your set-up.

Gone are the days you build ton of guest post, slap your target link with varied anchor texts and you start to rank after some weeks.

Still works but not like before. If you’re buying random guest posts from marketplaces it’s mostly wasted money now.
Only worth it if the site is actually legit and gets real traffic, otherwise it’s just link inflation.
Better results from fewer high-quality placements than mass posting everywhere.

Are they indexed? If they are, how was the content formatted?

Guest posts haven't stopped working in my experience.
The problem is that many providers sell placements on sites built mainly for selling links.
Those links rarely have the same impact as genuinely relevant placements.
