They’re 2 different verification processes in Google Ads.


  • Advertiser Verification = Confirms the identity of the advertiser (who owns the account, legal business name, location, government/business documents, etc.). This is mainly for transparency and trust.
  • Verification of Business Operations = Goes deeper into how the business actually operates (business model, services offered, customer interactions, licensing, payments, industry compliance, etc.). This is usually requested for higher-risk industries or when Google wants extra legitimacy checks.

So they’re related, but not the same. One verifies who you are, the other verifies what and how you operate.
