What this thread is
Hey, wanted to make this journey public to stay accountable, share alpha, and maybe inspire some people. I picked this method as I think it is rn the most popular method on BHW and I have been slacking a lot, focusing on my other business.
As the title says the goal is 100k in profit to flip into different things. Not because I don't believe in the model, I 100% know it can print, but let's just say I love growing the accounts, but to squeeze the most money out of it you need to chat with horny dudes so probably not something I want to be doing long term lol.
Currently, I have been messing around, setting up the infrastructure to scale this, seeing what works etc.
Rn I'm running 5 AI-generated Instagram accounts. I've spent ~$568 on generation content, made $70 back so far, and I have 2,666 total followers across the portfolio (most of which are for one model that had a reel go viral). I want to turn this into a money machine and I'm going to document every step of the way - wins, losses, bans, dumb mistakes, the math behind every dollar spent.
No hype, no "I made $30K in 7 days" bullshit. Just the actual numbers from someone who's a few weeks in, still figuring out the monetization funnel, and willing to post the ugly parts.
Why I'm posting this
Every "AI OFM journey" thread I've read on here either (a) larps to push a course in the first reply or (b) drops off after the third update when the numbers stop being impressive. I want to commit publicly to posting updates every 1-2 days regardless of whether I'm winning or losing. If I flatline, I'll post that. If I get banned, I'll post that. If the whole thing crashes, I'll post that too.
The honest truth is: I'm NOT consistent right now. I don't post every day on my accounts. I don't have a DM template (I don't even reply to DMs lol). I don't have a paywall funnel. I've been optimizing the content pipeline for weeks but I'm behind on the business side. This thread is partly accountability - writing it publicly forces me to actually ship instead of tweaking settings forever.
Rn I am in the phase of testing stuff, so idc that it isn't really monetized currently.
Where I am right now
- Total accounts run since starting: 8+ (exact number below)
- Currently active: 5
- Banned/dead: 3 (more on this in a sec)
- Total followers across live accounts: 2,666
- Biggest account: ~2,465 followers, mostly on one acc that had a reel that hit 500k views
- Smallest account: 3 followers (yes, three). Brand new, cold-start hell.
- Time invested: ~5-6 weeks of low effort
- Money spent: $568.84 total
- $358.84 on Replicate (video/image generation)
- $210.00 on Google NBP (image generation, the other models are trash compared to this, but the safety filter is really strict)
- Money earned: $70 (one guy, one DM, I just asked. No funnel, no script, no paywall. He messaged, I just hit him with "Don't talk to me before you send." and he did send 20$, then I was like good, now send $50 more and he did lol), so I know if I went through my DMs seriously or started DMing ppl that comment (engagement is super high) I could probably extract >1000$ rn, but I just CBA.
- Telegram channel: ~100 real subs on my main character. I barely post there. Untapped. The only acc I have a link in bio for.
What I've learned so far (the short version)
1. The content pipeline is solved. Face swap + Kling motion control = reliable production. I can crank out 10-15 finished reels in with like 2 minutes of work (just paste the URL to my claude custom manager, check the outputs ). Cost per finished reel is around $0.70 now that I've stopped experimenting.
2. Virality is luck, not content. I recreated my best-performing reel across 5 different accounts. Same dance, same format, same hashtags. My main account got 1,473 likes. The recreations got between 5 and 87 likes. Identical content, completely different outcomes. Account state is the real variable, not the video.
3. Cold start is brutal. Some new accounts sit at 0-10 followers for a week even when they're getting 100-500 views per reel. The algo test-distributes you but doesn't push past the first batch unless engagement rate on the test batch clears some internal threshold. You can't fake your way past this. This is the part I want to optimize RN, I am not using phone emulators, hashtags or like CTA in the post, could be gamechanger to get new accs of the ground faster.
4. Bans happen. I've lost 3 accounts so far. Some were my fault (burned aged accounts from a dodgy seller - lesson: verify email access before buying). Some were unclear why - IG just killed them. When you run multiple accounts with similar content, expect to lose a percentage.
**What I'm going to do next**
-Play around with mobile emulators, aged accounts etc, to see if I can get new accounts to 100+ followers faster
- Post consistently at least 1 reel per day per active account, no more "I'll batch this later". This is my biggest pet peeve, not posting on Friday and the weekend is just terrible as those reels always do well.
- Update this thread every 1-2 days - win or lose
My goal
Extract 100k from this ASAP, the current focus is not to monetize, but make the success formula repeatable. Honestly in the 3 weeks or so I have been going I already learned so much. For example the niche selection is one of the most important things, found two niches that just seem to be doing better than the rest, but let's see. For example I thought the "barely legal" perv bait niche would absolutly kill, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't want to leak the two niches that seem to be working for me though, so no need to ask.
Update format
Each update will include:
Day X — YYYY-MM-DD
─────────────────
Total spent: $XXX.XX (+$X.XX since last update)
Total earned: $XX.XX (+$X since last update)
Active accounts: X
Total followers: X,XXX (+XX since last update)
No fluff, no hype, same format every time so you can skim and see the numbers at a glance.
What I want from you
- Honest criticism on my monetization plan, warming up etc.
- Questions - what would you want to know if you were thinking about doing this?
- Skepticism - if something I'm claiming sounds wrong, call it out. I'd rather be corrected in public than build on false assumptions.
Let's see if this actually works. Day 1 update follows in the reply below.
⏺ Day 0 — 2026-04-11 (Saturday)
──────────────────────────────
Total spent: $568.84 (baseline)
Total earned: $70.00 (baseline)
Net: -$498.84 (running)
Active accounts: 5 (killed since starting: 3)
Total followers: 2,675 (baseline)
Biggest account: 2,474 (baseline)
New reels shipped this period: 15 generated, not all posted yet
Btw just so you know the first two accs were made like 25 days back, the other 3 like a week back, all on multibrowser tool, prewarmed by browsing and liking reels in that account's niche.
