Hey everyone,
I’ve been running Facebook ads for a little while now, but I’m curious to know what strategies have worked best for you.

Which type of ad (image, video, or carousel) has given you the best results? When setting up your campaigns, do you focus more on targeting, visuals, or something else? And what tips do you have for getting the best results with your budget?

Also, how do you make sure your ads actually convert?
I’d love to hear about your experiences. If you’ve got any tools or tricks that help with Facebook ads, feel free to share them too!
Looking forward to your replies!

Video ads usually perform best, but strong visuals and clear messaging are more important than the format. Focus on targeting the right audience, test multiple creatives, and optimize based on data. To improve conversions, use a clear offer, strong CTA, and ensure your landing page matches the ad.

For us, it’s all about constantly a/b testing creative, especially short, hook-heavy videos combined with super precise audience targeting to really nail those conversions and make the budget stretch

For me, video ads work best. I focus on targeting first, then adjust visuals. Start with a small budget to test, then scale what works. Use clear CTAs and test landing pages for better conversions. Facebook Pixel and Lookalike Audiences help too!

Every project works differently. Sometimes it’s a carousel, sometimes it’s a video—there’s no single “best” strategy. It all comes down to the product.

Video usually wins on attention, but conversions still come down to the offer, the creative, and the landing page. One of the easiest ways to improve is checking competitor ads or proven creatives with an ad spy tool, then building your own angle from that. If you are testing across multiple ad accounts, ours also helps keep each setup separate so things do not get messy.

in my experience video ads usually perform best because they grab attention faster, but i focus more on strong creative + clear offer than just format, and testing different audiences with small budget helped me find what converts

I get best results with short videos and tight interest targeting, test small budget first.

We use mostly video; users like short videos. The thumbnail and the first 3s sound are important too. It helps increase the impression rate
We use wide targeting, only set up the age range

I find that the most effective approach is still creativity (images/videos + hooks), which accounts for about 70%. Targeting only needs to focus on the basic audience. Quickly test multiple templates and then scale to the ones with the best CPA. If you want conversions, remember to optimize your landing page and build trust (reviews, proof) first.

I use the broadest possible targeting, primarily with video creatives. I try to run both ABO and CBO campaigns. I aggressively scale up ad creatives that deliver conversions at a good cost—increasing the budget several times over during the first few hours of the campaign.

My setup with FB: Tyver (spy), AdsLibrary, Combocards (virtual cards service), Linken Sphere (antidetect browser), mobile proxy (my own), binom (tracker)

the best strategy I have run so far is definitely conversions. It the fastest way to find customers for your products

As per my experience short native-style video ads usually perform best, then I focus more on creative, offer angle than targeting, and I keep budget testing small until I find a winning combo, that’s what gives consistent conversions.

For me, simple image ads often work best if the offer is clear. Videos can work too if you need to show how the product works, but you need to make sure it's not too expensive to produce them (maybe you can even film a simple video on your phone). I’d also use carousels if you have several products or benefits to show (good for digital products).

The main focus should be on creative and offer first. Targeting matters, but a good audience won’t help much if the ad is boring or the offer is weak. So check your USP, check what your competitors are doing, and improve your own offers and creatives first.

To get conversions, check the whole funnel: ad -> landing page -> offer -> checkout/form. If people click but don’t you don't see conversions, the problem is usually after the ad. Also, choose Sales or other bottom-funnel actions as the objective for your campaign - Facebook's algorithms will try to deliver your ads to people likely to take these actions.

If you want to try some tools, I can suggest LeadEnforce if you want to target followers from specific groups. I usually test these audiences vs. broad or Advantage+ audiences and then scale what works better in each case.

For me simple video creatives with strong first 3 seconds works best. I don't overcomplicate targeting too much now testing different creatives usually gives better results than changing audience again and agian.

For me, broad targeting with really strong videos ads is working best right now. I stopped over-complicating the audience and just let the ai find the right people.

For me, video ads absolutely slap, especially when you nail the targeting and visuals, plus always test different ad creatives to see what converts best for your specific audience

Video ads usually work best. Keep audience tight, test small first. Warm up account with safe stuff, good hook in first 3 seconds, then scale winners.

My strategy is to state from the start for whom the ad is about. For example if you were in the pest control sector where I am at I would put on my ad (for people troubled by cockroaches or nice). This helps filter out all the interested people in your ad and by this way conversions are increased.

For killer fb ads, video ads are your best bet because they grab attention fast, and always focus on laser-targeted audiences and killer visuals to boost those conversions, and don't forget A/B testing different creatives to maximize roi
