Hi,
I received an offer from someone who would like to buy my fb group, I wasn't aware it was a thing until then.
I think it's a great way to make money, if the fb group or page has thousands members you can either push your product or affiliate stuff in the same niche, or use the group as a parasite to promote your money site since groups can rank very well on google.
My group is not for sale since it's in a niche I am passionate about, but I'll look to buy other ones for promotion purposes now.
Good luck

I've never thought of it :D
I refused to sell mine and the person offered me $1000. I think I could get even more if I negociate, but I'll just keep my group.
It's a good business for someone who knows how to grow a group audience fast, with engagement, to sell it for good money.
Congrats for selling 60 groups, it's huge !

Buying and selling Facebook groups is quite common. Many people with clear monetization plans acquire groups with a large number of members and strong engagement to generate income.

Buying a group looks easy until the new owner starts optimizing it and the whole thing dies. Members follow the vibe, not the admin, and once that changes the group can turn into a ghost town fast.

Are you monetising the group in any way at the moment ?

yes. this is a good way to make money when you have time.
I had build and sell group for years, my biggest group I sold at $10k, it takes 3 months to build.

how long did it take and was it all organically?
Yep it's organic/legit, it took around 6 months and it's still growing steadily while I do nothing. The group name is catchy and appears in facebook results when someone is searching for this sport. I didn't monetize it (for now)

True. That's why it's better to advertise on the groups than buying it and changing the vibe from the previous admin.

I'm going to respectfully disagree here.

I've had hundreds of groups, and you are right as if I were to only be promotional, they would do the way of the do-do bird, but if you areactive as a normal member would be, your groups members are receptive to your offers.

If all you do is promote, it's Good night, Irene, good night.

A fascinating thing you can do nowadays is to use AI to replicate how the previews owner used to post.

Literally, you can scrape the previews owner posts, then train your favorite LLM with it and you can create new posts following the previous owner's style.

I just thought of this, and it's crazy to think what AI can do nowadays.

Buying a group seems easy until the new admin changes the vibe. Members follow the energy, not the owner, and the group can die fast.

Do you still have the buyer's information? I would like to request his contact details for further discussion.

Been there, done that. Buying groups can work if you actually keep the vibe alive—not just blast promos. If you don’t care about the niche, engagement tanks fast. Real content plus occasional nudges in the same niche tend to pay off more than pure promos.

It does happen that some people acquire existing Facebook groups, especially if they already have active members and engagement.

Honestly, buying established groups is a total cheat code for traffic if you know how to leverage them for affiliate sales or seo. Just be careful with the quality, because a dead or spammy group is basically just a waste of your budget
