How i went from $0 to $16K/month in 4 months clipping content

1. how it started: I kept seeing videos hit my tiktok fyp with the same music over and over and got curious why is that happening (had already feeling they get paid for it). I started checking comments on every video with the same sound and one person asked the creator the same thing. the creator replied that they get paid for adding background music to clips. that’s when i realized you can actually make money clipping content (also adding background music).

2. the journey: Found a place that pays people to clip other creators stuff (also adding background music)

month 1: made Instagram + TikTok pages and just started clipping content creators. first month: ~$700.

month 2: added another Instagram + TikTok account, tested doing background music. Results were way better, so i doubled down. second month: ~$3,500.

month 3: now my pages already was getting good traction, so i knew this month will be huge. Created one more Instagram + TikTok account and kept doing the background music format. third month: ~$9,000.

month 4: only change i did was i hired an VA to automate the workflow and scale faster. fourth month: ~$16,000.

3. lessons i learned:

  • warm up new accounts for a few days before start posting.
  • for the first couple weeks, post no more than 4x/day per account — otherwise you risk getting rate-limited or shadowbanned.
  • create multiple accounts per platform to scale faster.
  • don’t add more than 5 instagram or tiktok accounts on a single device — it triggers flags.

Yes with IG and Tiktok but I am really interested in hearing which platform he is using because most clipping offers have a limit per how much each user can earn per offer to keep it fair and also he must be doing 10s of millions of views on these offers to be earning that ammount.

I'm not sure I fully get it how this works.

Just to clarify - you started checking comment sections under tiktoks with the same popular sound and there was some one person asking the creator about.. what? You mean, they questioned why he uses the same sound over and over?

Also, whose background music is it? Does the artist/creator pay content creators to include fragments of their songs/sounds in their tiktoks?

So with that, you decided to clip 3rd party content and use popular sounds in them?

Is this similar to taking content creators videos, edit them to make them shorter and add in your own commentary/caption and music effects? And then monetize with social media site's monetization program like Youtube, Facebook, and Tiktok.

Same thing, both ad revenue. I think your revenue comes from music companies promoting their music? That's why they're willing to pay you to get more people to listen to their music.

No clipping offers are from clipping companies, so there is companies that reach out to streamers, artists, celebrities, brands and basically they provide a budget to promote their song, movie, stream, clips etc.

Usually the format is something like Offer: edits/clips of "streamers" stream payout: $200-500 per million views

Same as all those logo campaigns you have definitely seen on Tiktok or IG, like stake etc.

Some good sources to compete in them are: whop, clip money discord server, clipster, /clipping discord server

So you will open Instagram and tiktok accounts and keep uploading videos and keep getting engagement on your Instagram and tiktok account then the people who wants to promote there song, product or company will come to your inbox to ask you for promotion?

No, this can also happen but most people that dm you about that are taking advantage of you.

For example the offer might be $500 per million views, and someone dms you about that offer and tells you that there is an offer available for $100 per million views, they then keep the difference.

You need to sign up on the source itself like whop . com or the discord servers I mentioned.

On these servers there is heaps of offers to choose from for all sorts of niches, all with different requirements and payouts
 
Which pays more per thousand/million views or RPM? This or social media monetization partner programs like Youtube/Facebook/Tiktok? Youtube could demonetize your channel if your content is not original. Any risk with this? I guess they don't really care since the music companies paying you ad revenue just want to spread their music.

Is clipping videos considered new content or stealing copyrighted content?

Well tbh most content on socials is copyrighted content, for examples movie edits etc are all copyrighted content, the editor does not own rights to the video but yet it is a grey area and nothing happens.

Everything I personally do is with repurposed content so I if the offer is "Clip this guys video" I then source the most viral videos of the guy, repurpose them and use that.

I live in a country where tiktok/IG does not accept in the creator fund so this is a good solution for people like me, as for which pays better, I believe clipping does but depends on the offer, the good thing about the creator fund compared to clipping is you are less limited, for example you will get paid for your original work but on clipping you need to create videos based off the offers requirements.

What is the income potential of this? Looks like OP can maybe scale to 20k to 30k? OP posted his monthly income doing this. If you don't mind sharing, how much are you making doing this right now or used to make in the past? How many people are doing this clipping videos and monetize with background music?

Where did you learn how to do this? Any forum post/thread/ebook?

For OP to be generating that amount from just music campaigns is quite crazy so I really want to know what platform he is using for offers and how much they pay per million views, because if it is the standard 200-500 per million he must be doing 10s of millions of views and the budgets must be huge.

I have not been clipping a lot lately as I am focusing on other things atm but when I was, I was earning a few thousand dollars monthly from it, not close to as much as OP but mainly due to the offers I compete in had caps for example each creator could only earn up to 700-1500 per offer so that the budget is fairly spread and large pages dont eat up all the budget (giving smaller pages a chance to earn something before the budgets gets eaten)

You will mainly learn in the discord servers I mentioned, there is thousands of active clippers you can chat too and also they have video guides set up for beginners.
 
Hello. Ive also tried this recently but it is not effective yet but by this thread, it inspired me a lot to be determined to do it.

I want to understand if you are a music artist and putting your music on videos to manipulate stream numbers or you just a video creator?

yeah I am doing 10s of millions of views, but i think you can agree that it is NOT that hard to generate views, especially if u have multiple accounts

ive been clipping for about 2 weeks now an have gotten good numbers 10k+ videos 300+ likes all organic atleast i hope. anyways im looking to start making money and get serious i have 1 video that is 1,5 mill but havent been able to reach those numbers again..what services do u suggest for me to start making some money or start making something cause atp im tired of clipping for free lmao
