For the blue crew, what is the going rate for signature spaces and how is that generally calculated?

I know it's one of the best advantages of having Jnr.VIP in order to recoup the yearly cost and get the other benefits of being blue for free/cheaper, but I've not seen any explanations of what kinds of rates people can get for their signature space.

Is there even an "average" amount, or can it vary widely? Thanks in advance

I pay $15/month for full banner space if account (with minimum reaction score: 100) posts 3-5 posts/replies in a day / 4-5 days week.. I suppose it fully covers Jr VIP costs + leaves some beer money :)

of course, there are more visible and notable users at bhw with much higher prices and that's understandable.

It varies widely.

There is really not a chart to determine what a sig goes for or even if someone would buy one from any particular member.

When I rent, I look at these specific things:

  • Does the user have activity in the last 4 weeks, if yes, how many posts?
  • Does the user contribute to the community or just trolling like me?
  • Does the user open useful threads or just do useless replies like me?
  • Does the user have a reputation or is a random "count me in for a review copy" guy like me?

People do a big mistake renting signature by the total number of posts, but most of them were active last time barely a few times last month, I am not saying people do not view old threads, but threads which hit more often the first page are more viewed in a short lifespan.

Or sometimes x10 the yearly cost.

Thanks for the more specific details to understand. It seems like at a minimum the cost of Jnr.VIP is typically made back, which is really what I wanted to understand a bit better.

It varies widely.
I can tell, the advice is appreciated.

Oh sorry forgot to explain

2 is my personal favorite number

You can put any number in there. Like 7 is a really cool number too.
Ooh, it's a number. I have now calculated that my signature is worth $93962.361 per month. Taking applications now!

Man I'm looking forward to retiring early because of my signature payments.

I finally understand it now. Basically, I am allowed to pay people to be more active and useful than me and do some reasonable work. This buys me enough time to troll around, slap newbies and ask for review copies. Right? I like it.:-)
