Where do big movie websites host their server?

It always depends. I had self hosted video website, I know people doing such websites. I know even people who have legal registered companies streaming illegal videos, they pay their income taxes and so on.
But this is not a open to the public how to.

Is not easy to arrest someone because he has shared a link, in Europe. In USA/UK is not hard, but in Europe is a kinda difficult, and you will accuse he for what? Tell me? For sharing a link? He can claim, that he didn't make any upload or hosted that content.

You will accuse him for what? Is difficult, you need good proofs to do that, there is money involved in such activities? No. Did he upload that content? No.


These things can help him to defense in legal battles. Like I said, you can't say he is responsible for sharing a link. The website isn't owned from him. So why he should be accused for that?

If you have website that just are links and redirects, not host and you don't earn money is not easy to accuse someone of "host" DMCA Content, because is only links there.

That's the reason google respond to DMCA's by removing those sites to their index, otherwise, they CAN be considered legally responsible for the content. Do you remember when MegaUpload owner went to jail?

It's different, they know that MEGA have a lot of money, a lot of cars, a big house. If the owner of MEGA doesn't pay taxes on his country, and try to hide their money on offshore banks to make money laundry that is crime.
MEGA Owner is accused of money laundry and other money schemes to escape to the tax office etc. That is different, when you earn money and money you will be always a big target no matter what.


MEGA is different, MEGA stores content. A Website only doing warez linking (hyperlinking) is a huge difference, don't compare. Doing warez linking is not a "big crime" or "storing copyrighted material", MEGA stored on their servers that is different man.


Linking isn't easy to punish someone, it only depends of the country and laws of that country. Because you don't store, you don't upload. You only make Copy & paste from others sources. That is hard to punish, unless you live on US/UK they are very DMCA friendly, so they can arrest you due to their laws.
 
Wow, 123movies.to is operated from Vietnam. I have never known that. But. since they are caught, people say that live in vietnam is safest because nobody will care or come Vietnam to catch :)))
