Hi You would be better off redirecting the individual pages to relevent pages on your site using .htaccess, youll find many tutorials on the web which will show you how to achieve this

Yes tried myself cant be 100% sure that my EMD site's demise were not related to the recent penguin / panda updates, but looks like penalty passed over to the new sites i tried a 301 redirect on

Same here pretty much all EMD sites that i did zero backlinking too stayed put all others with linking bombed, but that maybe be down to panda/ penguin updates rather the the EMD update. Ive restarted the bombed sites on branded domains since that update and they are performing extremely well...

2x Emd sites that disappeared are bouncing back for certain keywords..... there maybe hope yet!!

This will be the reason for the drop low quailty links, Also link diversity, i did the same as you on to EMD sites and guess what there both gone but all other EMD sites with no back linking since April have shot up or rank the same. Stick with niche related or high quality links and youll be ok

Lets not all assume this is just down to EMD's, as alot of non EMD's hit too, its more likely that there was a little panda or penguin involvment along side, My site that was hit was far from low quality. I wouldnt right off these sites yet or EMD's overall just sit tight for a week or so and...

Id advise to wait a little while see what others suggest over the next week or so. The problem is there may have been a panda or penguin update at the same time I don't think this latest algo was just about EMDs as a number of non EMDs were hit too. I made a rash decision and have 301 redirected...
