ok, from my experience like you said you can rank a site,post or any url with pure on-site SEO an backlinks so I think using categories or posts as if they were micro niches websites would work,right?

O,k well we all know managing hundreds of micro-niche websites its almost impossible, so isnt easier to use posts or categories like micro niches and make backlinks and SEO in general for the categories? Im not a guru so I would like to hear some feedback about this "idea"

Subdomains are a pain in the a*s to rank... subfolders are the way to go...
