I would recommend you to go for both as they come in quite handy for a range of purposes. They are ideal for tiered link building, but you will have to test different strategies to identify a working one for yourself.

Why would you want to pay per day, it doesn't work like that in SEO. Its always a monthly thing for rentals, the longer you hold onto your links, the better it gets.
