Could be what is called whois hijacking, in which if there deems to be any value to the domain you are looking up, it will be registered from right under you. Be sure to use a reputable whois lookup. I would say large registrars but who knows these days :)

Good idea, however many experienced sellers will not send product other than your paypal account address.. In most cases you will have to get item sent to you, then send to winner. If you try this method keep shipping expenses in mind.
