Yeah i occasionally do something similar as well but usually drip feed the blasts over a month or so, keeping the amount fairly small still, but is handy for diversity anyway

It's probably better transfering the content etc over to a new domain, redirecting and starting again then trying to revive the website, as in the end your efforts may pay off a month or so down the line but theres also a chance they won't and you'll have just wasted time and money

One click crappy atricles have always been the lazy approach anyway, there usefulness was obviously limited. The TBS is still a great tool for creating readable quality spun articles, it just takes a bit of work. If your unwilling to put the effort in to create better content then good luck...
Like the above poster said, focus on decent quality diverse backlinking as opposed to little onsite tweaks like that. Id imagine the change, if any, would be minimal at best
