I have a script that does this. It follows about 400~ people a day and unfollows them periodically based upon keywords. I've been running the script for some members on the forum here, but I'll be happy to help out if you want. PM me if you want the details.

I can't guarantee you 1,000 right away, but I have a script that auto unfollows / follows about 400 people a day based upon a set of keywords. 10% of those people end up following back, so about ~40 a day. So if I ran the script every day, it should take about 25-30~ days to get to 1,000...
