There's nothing to be scared of. Just dive in and you'll learn as you go. Making basic Wordpress sites is pretty easy. Either do cheap domain/hosting or just play around with a free wordpress.com setup first.
What skills do you have? What do you like to do? That would be a good place to start. If nothing else, learn how to do some basic web design with WordPress. That's something you could do freelance work with and is also very valuable for IM.
Start a website with quality, original content. Apply for the affiliate program. Link to products, earn a few percent (more or less depending on what category) commission on people's orders.
I second that there could be a problem with copied content and I also wouldn't risk my Amazon account on that. Better would be to rewrite it in your own words.
Clickbank is probably a good place to start. You should be able to do basic web tasks like creating word press sites/pages. Best paid traffic sources, there are so many. Adwords, Facebook, etc. Be careful with these if you're new to affiliate marketing though. It's easy to lose a lot of...
It matters a little bit. As far as having a decent sounding URL without the keyword (more a general name) or one with the keyword within it that does not read as eloquently, it really depends. I'd still default toward the more eloquent name personally.
Like others said, this is a quick way to get banned.
You might make them a bit of money in the short-term, but they don't want a bunch of spammy links because it cheapens their platform.
