I'm looking for websites that are doing link building right, given all the new Penguin changes - sites that are not getting penalized but are able to rank well. Looking for newer sites that are doing it more recently, like in the past 6 months or 1 year.

Google currently favors pages with more content, so you should create a single page that has lots of information about a single topic. You can divide up using H1, H2 tags and anchor tags. Be sure your long page has a good table of contents with links that jump straight to anchors in your doc.

What's more important is the topical relevance of these pages with your client site. Make sure your sites, links and pages have relevant content to where you're linking.

I would ask your readers to add a comment if they appreciated your post. Its not exact, but usually people do respond to requests like these.

Yes, Quora and Reddit are great places to start your research on any topic. Medium is pretty good these days too.

Recent study i saw showed that a large majority, like 70% of top page results have 1,800 words or more. So long content does way better with Google's newest system.
