Google Analytics is free, and there is clicky which I have always wanted to try... their heat maps look really cool.

"Authority sites" don't need to build links artificially. That's why they're authority sites, because people enjoy them so much that they reference them and link to them for free.

I would just change the content to whatever I was promoting currently. Why bother writing plumbing articles or re-creating a plumbing website when that's not what you're after?

You should definitely remove any outbound links on your website that link to dead domain names. Google ranks websites based on how user friendly they are to the searchers they send there, and your users probably don't want to be clicking on a bunch of dead links now do they? ;)

Have you tried using a different credit card?

There aren't many social bookmarking sites that give out actual links anymore. A lot of them went wild with the nofollow tag. Reddit seems to still give out actual links, you could try there.

I've never done a side by side comparison of the two methods, but in general... the more work you put into something, the more value you will get out of it. Google is pretty smart these days... and they don't place much value in stagnant unchanging pages imho. A regularly updated website would...

WP is pretty slow in general. It's not the most efficient CMS out there but it gets the job done. Another option would be to splurge for a faster VPS with more available CPU cycles. Good luck!

I think you just answered your own question right there. Why not combine both of the servers into one so you don't waste time loading from one server to the other?

You're trying to trick Google (adsense?) into believing that your traffic came from Facebook? I don't think that's possible... As referral headers are set client-side and not server-side.
