I use wordpress. It is the self hosted kind and allows for a lot of plugins and customization and has an easier time with search engines. I have never tried blogger.

Install wordpress with host gator or go daddy. I like host gator for hosting but I have my domains on go daddy. It is important to realize WP comes from two sources. You want the self hosted org so you can have a custom them.
