Do not ever go with shared hosting for these types of websites. A sudden spike in server resources (such as if you reached the front page of digg or reddit) and you're done.

I haven't seen any limitations to facebook statuses with links until now. Have you posted links prior to getting this error? If so, how many in a span of 1 hour?
