+1 oftentimes this would be the single best way to rank.. check the backlink profiles of people who rank above you and try to replicate all links they have

this comment is super biased (I work at Ahrefs) but yeah.. CredibleZephyre did you try our tools? we have so much stuff for competition research that I don't even know where to start :)

well, actually we (ahrefs) didn't know anything about him as well.. that's how he landed that guest article on our blog but I guess the timing for that article was pretty much planned.. he said he wanted it live after Aug 17th :)
