Yeah, with ad extensions and all the bells and whistles the idea is literally that... take up as much room as Google will allow you to so that your competition is down the page. Yet another annoyance to SEO. Which is why I hopped over to PPC a few years back.

Web2.0 and 3.0 are just buzzwords. What will hurt IM is improved AI that can better detect spammy content, but this has been slowly happening month by month for literally years. It isn't as if one day somebody rolls out "web3.0" and boom everything changes. Tech morphs over time and slowly life...
If we are lucky this variant will either not take foothold, or it will be far less deadly than previous strains. We will see, stay safe guys.

Google has ruined its content with not only massive ads, but multiple ads in some instances. Any heavy hitting keyword runs into this issue, which is why organic SEO has suffered in recent years.
