That's an easy question. Location. Google toolbar is everybody, what browser exists that doesn't have google search built into it? Many times I have ended up buying something on amazon that started with a google search.

I dont think you've wasted time. Sure it's not profitable but you have learnt something, it was a failure, and now you can move on to the next project. BTW if you are getting traffic to the site you've done something right.
