Normally, if a site is ranking well on the first page of google, it means its a good source of backlink for you. Also, content syndication as suggested above is a good way to promote your website but make sure you only share part of your quality content on forums.

What sorts of backlinks have you been creating?

Are all your 220+ links seen on ahrefs indexed on google?

Search for them using footprints and your niche keywords via google. You will get plenty.

I would not touch stable sites as that could easily cause them to lose their serps.

It depends how popular that name may be as well as how many others may be building backlinks targeting that exact same name.

It is difficult to say anything for sure, keep building backlinks and monitor your serps.

Identify untapped spam sources and hit them hard.
