Hmm, I guess it would be tough to really isolate how much weight it carries, if anyone, but it does make sense.. Interesting.

I just bought a .mobi keyword domain the other day with 3.3 million exacts, when I find stuff like that I go for it even if I had no idea what I'm going to do with the site.

^ Lol, yeah I guess adwords is a good bet for white hat traffic.. But people get banned from that all the time, too :P I think good content, that people will share .. is one of the toughest / but most legit ways to build a site.

I dont know if I would buy it JUST for age, but if other stars were aligning as well, age is a huge huge huge plus in my mind.

Awesome, I've seen some ads on reddit for 4.99 domains.. and every now and then godaddy has the $1 offer. I take the best deals, wait a few months, then move them over to my usual domainhost, who charges about $10 for the transfer, but adds a year on. It pays to shop around lol :P

Good luck getting this back, goes to show that even the weakest link (gmail in this case) is enough to topple an empire :\

Just because it's private, doesn't mean he won't entertain offers.. Try the phone number, but it will likely just be the offices of the company who offers the privacy service (Same as the email), which is fine - just ask them if they can forward a message for you to the site owner. :)

With a list that massive, I would try to segment them by trying out different niches and seeing which stick. Break it up into smaller lists..

Indeed. SEO can get someone to your site in the first place, but it can't stop them from closing the window when your content sucks.

I usually use elegantthemes. Some of them are a little "fancy" but their controll panel and options are the best/easiest I've found to date.
