They did the same thing to me too, couldn’t even claim it...the escrow at PlayerUp feels kind of messy tbh, I’d avoid it. By the way, I noticed in another thread you mentioned people buying Upwork accounts. I always wondered about that…is it like a full buyout or more of a lease? I never...
It’s definitely a valid concern, but I think it’s a bit more complex. Whales do hold a massive chunk of BTC, but unlike traditional finance, their moves are visible on-chain. If they dump, sure, the price tanks short term, but they’d also destroy the value of their own holdings. In that sense...
Man, I feel that. Back then a lot of us thought BTC was some internet scam too. Funny how ‘too good to be true’ ended up being the biggest missed opportunity for many
Got it, that makes sense. I didn’t realize there was such a big difference between ‘clean’ vs not-so-clean IPs. When you say clean, do you mean they’re not already blacklisted by sites?
bt hey bro...careful though, a lot of ‘residential VPS’ offers are actually just VPNs/proxies resold from bigger networks. Definitely worth checking reviews before buying anything lol
bt again... from what I’ve seen, true residential VPS is rare and usually more expensive, since ISPs don’t hand out those IPs easily. Most people end up going with residential proxy networks instead
Yeah true, at least on-chain activity keeps things a bit more honest. In TradFi we don’t even know who’s pulling the strings half the time.
Transparency is underrated. I wonder though...do you think most small holders actually use whale-tracking tools, or do they just panic once the dump...
AWS is also powerful but kinda overkill for small projects IMO, unless you really need the scalability. Plus the pricing can get confusing fast
Have you tried DigitalOcean or Hetzner? Curious how they stack up for you compared to Vultr
Yeah VPS is definitely the move if you're running anything serious. Vultr’s been decent for me too cos of their high-frequency instances which are actually pretty snappy
bt bro if you're managing multiple projects, I’d definitely lean towards VPS or cloud...shared hosting gets painful once you're juggling more than 1-2 active sites.
Also worth looking into Cloudways (if you don’t want to deal with sysadmin stuff)
Curious what kind of projects you're working...
I’ve been in a similar spot before...started on Namecheap shared hosting years ago, but it just couldn’t keep up once traffic spiked on a couple of my lead-gen sites.
Switched to a low-tier VPS on Contabo last year and honestly, for the price, it's solid. Not blazing fast out of the box, bt with...
