If they really wanted it, they could take it from you. Cybersquatting laws. You can't profit from it, imo I would give it to them for the $50.

Depends on what the domain is. Is it a dictionary word domain? Does it have retail value for a business? Did you buy it from someone else or did you pick it up at registration cost? If it's a random domain that holds no meaning or value then, no it's not worth anything.
