Unless you can afford paid sources of traffic, such as PPC, I think getting some free traffic to your site from articles, blogs, etc., is the best way to get the ball rolling.

The profitability or otherwise depends on how you put your keywords to use as far as SEO, backlinking, etc., are concerned, and whether or not you can get ranked on page 1 of Google. Market Samurai offers a great too for checking competition on page 1 of Google.

It looks like you're on the right track. Shame you took a break when there was less competition, but with the iPad, how much is less??? Build web 2.0 sites, and don't forget to social bookmark them.

If you can afford $1.99, you can buy a .info domain on GoDaddy and use that as a redirect to an affiliate offer you can promote via article marketing. I'm working on a couple of similar campaigns myself at the moment.

I haven't had this issue come up yet, but I appreciate everybody's comments and advice and, even though I hope I won't have to put it into practice, I hope I'll be better equipped to deal with a situation like this if and when it does come up. Onward and upward, as they say.
