If your category happens to compete for the same keyword it would dilute the actual page' ranking power. If you're really careful at categories then there should be no problem. I'm not careful, so I noindex them

My main site vanished altogether last Saturday. Only "site:" would bring anything, otherwise it's like wiped clean. Now parts started to come back, but still 0 visitors :(
