You may also try to use robots meta tags. Something like <meta name="robots" content="noindex" /> or <meta name="googlebot" content="noindex"> in template.

I don't think that you need more than one sitemap with your structure. It's no subdomain so for SE it will be one site. So you need one sitemap and one robots.txt. You need to have 2 sitemaps with this structure blog.domain.com, because this is third level domain.
