My biggest issue with Amazon listings is that every seller of that item is visible in one place - the potential buyer finds the item and the cheapest seller generally gets the buy button. Result? A painful race to the bottom for prices and margins. At least on eBay buyers have to hunt for...

If there are that many people interested, that just means more folks trying for a sale? That's exactly where I'm at with my Amazon business! Loads of sellers chasing too few customers. How on earth can it be an advantage if everyone else is doing it? Sorry to be a bit cynical!

Sorry, I know that you asked about redirecting to home page, but that was a solution for more specific redirecting - ie to a page with a similar subject. A 404 is the way to go as a catch-all.
