been using namesilo for about 4 yrs now and namecheap for about 2 (and godaddy for about 5 starting in 2008 i believe). I really like namesilo, they're inexpensive, have a very easy to use and understand interface (by that I mean u always easily and quickly see what all of your domain(s)...

regarding your statement above, a different registrar account for every single domain seems incredibly difficult to do. do registrars even allow multiple accounts?
assuming they're registered on different days, what fingerprint do multiple domains...
was talking w a guy that uses a similar service he found from a seller on bbhf...says he's used it for a few months and it works great. not sure if it's the same service as the link in op's post but the person i talked w mentioned using majestic which i don't see on that site.
no they're not dead. are they typically harder to do well in than say 10 yrs ago? of course. the real opportunities lie in budding niches where keywords are being discovered.
there's 2 kinds of content, spun and real (obviously the quality of the real content varies)
why even deal w spun content when there's so many inexpensive, decent writers for hire?
what i'm going to say is basic stuff for local but you'd be surprised how many companies have no clue...
1) claim google+ page and make sure if filled out completely. (also check and remove any duplicate listings)
2) have plenty of business directory citations
although i mainly focus is a domain has a clean profile w/o spammy backlinks and decent quality editorial links from authority sites, i avoid anything that had japanese or chinese content, i just do. i'm sure some of those domains are excellent, but with so many coming available everyday i don't...

there's no set percentage for what comprises a natural profile, although an unnatural one is easy to detect. just keep in mind to diversify. and that goes for all links...tier 1, 2, etc.
