I would recommend trying out Bing ads if you are targeting an older demographic. If you take a look at some of the Bing demographic statistics, you will see that the majority of searches there are performed by older people, "commonly within the 55-64 age bracket".

Start buying lots of traffic and burning accounts and studying the logs after. That's how we build ours and I suspect that's how everyone else built theirs.
