I won't recommend any specific ones, but I don't use any that don't pay me 100% of my earnings. From memory CDBaby keep 9 or 10%? I'd also advise against Distrokid after their recent banwaves.

Like anything, how much you're making a month will determine if they cost too much or not.
If they aren't good enough, don't use them. Many of the small to medium distributors will manually approve releases. Routenote for example is notorious for rejecting them.
Right, many will pay for the month before the track was taken down. I was more addressing the idea that there's a secret distributor who pays no matter what happens :)
I've ordered from probably a dozen people on there and had around half of them send me songs ripped off from somewhere else. Then when you send them links to the songs they ripped off, they say "Oh I don't know how that happened!"
